3 ingredients for opening your creativity daily
Hey;)
I like to see you here, and today we will speak on 3 ingredients for opening yourself creatively every day, for opening your heart, your soul and your play. Because you have it, and here are ways to open it. There will soon be an option as well to come and do it together with me as I am creating something special :)
But let’s read on. Think about it later, which one thing can you do right after this post?
So…
Have you felt that some days creativity or flow feels blocked, and inner joy seems to be hiding under some layers? Like you know, it’s there. You remember how to laugh, how to have fun, how to enjoy, but some days it just seems to be out of reach. Why?
Well. Let’s start with that.
A little backstory from my life
I am not a technical person who can just be in technical tasks or consumed by working with technology or repetitive tasks. I can do that, but I need balance.
Today I saw one photo, and that is one of my favorite pictures from school year photos, where I forgot that it was picture day and showed up unprepared - but how I really am. More wild, not neatly put together outfits, but more like from those street dance movies, or where the style just hits different, and which picture do you think had the biggest smile? Yes. That one. I was me, and I didn't put on a neat blouse or white top. I had a messy ponytail from running around that day, and oh, how I love connecting to this little lady. She was not put in a box. She was free.
Some days we get consumed by things, tasks, errands, bad thoughts, or a negative inner voice, or have just forgotten for a while how it is to create fun. How it is to feel free and feel more enjoyment about your day that can be found in any day.
So what were her passions? Let’s look at the 3 ingredients now, one by one. I am not sharing them as from my own perspective, from what she liked to do, but I am sharing three powerful tools for opening yourself up creatively and to your inner passion. And the best part? We all can do all three (plus the surprise one I have at the end;))
Let’s dive in, shall we?
First. Think of something colorful. Great.
Now think it has two eyes.
Then how many legs does it have?
Aha
And how about its passions, what does it like to do?
Okay, great!
Now, what is the result? What is your little cutie?
What was the purpose of this? Just simply to think about something that doesn’t exist and create something new:) To open your mind to your beautiful imagination.
Secret ingredients to a creative, connected to self, and energized day
Let’s start and get into them one by one, shall we?
Indeed. Be a child, allow childlike expressions, make funny faces, raise your arms, and shake your body out. Play. See something cute as you walk down the street/drive a car (just be safe on the road;)). And notice, count how many red cars can you see. Play with no purpose. Just simply playful acts, gestures, and moments that brighten up your day. We as adults have to sometimes remember what it means to be a child to live a fulfilling life. Because who can be serious al the time? Blow a balloon, bubbles, for gods sake 😄
The second ingredient = Voice. Use your voice. Hear your voice. Sing. Hum. Whistle. What is your favorite song? Turn it on and hum along. Because by connecting to your voice, you also relax your nervous system, you sing and have a pleasurable experience. And I don’t mean just perfect on pitch singing where you are a professional singer. No. Although learning that can be nice and interesting, but just simply using your voice, making melodies up, whistling, and humming. Create a funny tune and sing it during your day. How could you include music in your day?
And the third… drumroll… movement. Yes. Not the workout kind, or running, or anything like that. Although a workout is important for your health, I am specifically referring to dance. About movement through dance. When you have a time between two work tasks, can you get up (or even in your chair, but better get up to include the whole body) and do a dance to your at that moment favorite song (I don’t know if you do, but I don’t have a favorite song, so I get different playlists and moods each day)? Can you dance a way that doesn’t require you to be perfect or dance with a created choreography? Simply let your body guide you. And here we can also go into intuitive movement. How does your body want to move? You can tune in and listen. What is your body asking for? Is it a stretch? Is it a dance? What kind of movement do you wish for in that dance? Is it on the ground, jumping, is it softer, or is it wide open and faster? What is your body asking for?
Hehe, now we have gotten through all three, but hey… I mentioned I have another one.
Do you want to hear it? ;)
Here it is.
Drawing with no purpose, without having a goal in mind how the end product has to look.
What colors, what paper do you want to use? What markers, what do you want to use to create this?
And then choose what calls you first, start drawing on your chosen paper or other surface, and draw, create from feeling. Not from what needs to happen in the end. Can you draw out your current feelings? Can you place colors in interesting shapes and forms? Can you listen to the part that’s opening in your mind and heart that’s guiding you?
Drawing with no end goal.
Be kind to your inner perfectionist ;). Say thank you. And learn to give it time to simply color with no “staying in the lines”.
Implementation in life
Now that we have gotten through all of these beautiful ingredients, how can you include them in your daily life?
As I already mentioned in some of them, they can be done in moments between work, during free time in the evening, like the drawing exercise, for example, or just as you walk down the street. These are not as another task that needs to be done, rather something to free you up, something to lighten the mood and lighten the atmosphere, your daily life.
Thank you for coming and reading this, as I know, if you did, you have the inner desire to connect with your creativity and freedom more that you know is already there.
May you have a blessed and enjoyable time implementing these in your days. You can definitely start with one and see how that changes things.
I’ll see you later, in the next post or in future events;)
Have a good rest of your day.
